Alex’s wife, Mercy, gave our boys their first taste of authentic Colombian food and the clean plates make it apparent that that all LOVE the food!  The views from the school are stunning.  What I like most is that we live near our service project AND many of us are living with the students who take classes and study there.  

¡Ya llegamos! We have arrived

We are here.  The line coming through immigration was long but went without any problems.  We all have stamps in our passports!!! The BEST Boys have done it again.  Thank you to all the BEST parents and staff members who make international travel possible for our well deserving students.  

Our program director Alex, sent his daughter to pick us up from the airport.  We spent some time at our volunteer site.  Ate lunch together, introduced ourselves and got to meet our host family.  Here are some pix!

In Ft. Lauderdale

We’ve landed safely in Ft Lauderdalenfornour layover.  We will be here a little over an hour then we will catch our next flight to Cartagena! 

It was one of our student’s first flight and he was extremely nervous, understandably so!  But he did juuuust fine and the look of amazement on his face once we started gliding over the clouds was priceless.  These trips are so important for our boys and our community and for all them over we will touch during these next 11 days.  We are all coming back wiser and better.  I’m so thankful to help shape future global citizens.  

Cartagena, here we come!

We are ready!!! Thank you to all my awesome parents for being on time and so organized.  You truly are the BEST parents!  We are headed thru security now, and our first time flyers are NERVOUS!
