Street games and surprise parties

We stopped painting at 6pm.  I sent everyone home to shower, eat dinner, and relax.  Everyone knew about the surprise party except Jordan.  I told them all to meet up after dinner at 7:30 so we could figure out how to spend the evening.  Jordan was the last student to show up so I told the boys to keep him downstairs until we finished preparing upstairs for the party.  While they played Alex’s wife, Mercy, Dr Malik, and I fried Yucca sticks, cut watermelon, decorate the table and much more.  The boys played street ball with Alex, his sons, and the neighborhood kids.

The music you head in this video has been playing since 10am.  Back home the police would have been called and the perpetrators would be fined for noise pollution.  My students never believe me when I tell them in many Latin American countries that the music doesn’t stop... ya gotta see it to believe it (while I’m posting this it’s 11:23 pm and he music is STILL PLAYING... I kid you not)

After playing the games we signaled them to come upstairs Jordan had to her bday licks first.  Each of his friends/ brother punched him in the arm 16 times. One for each year of life. My poor baby could barely lift his arm to cut the cake, lol.

Once they were done beating him up, they came upstairs, and we all sang happy birthday to Jordan.

Then because the activity never stops they also started and indoor game with Alex’s sons and other new friends.
